1 - How did you choose your name - is there a meaning behind it?

It was quite random actually, our first release was going out on Vinyl and we still didnt have a name, we were sat around brainstorming and a friend of ours suggested "Bare Noize" and we went with it. "Bare" being slang for "lots" . ..

2 - What do you think stands out the most about your sound?

Its quite difficult to be able to tell what stands out about your own sound as your so involved in it and not listening from an outside point of view. We never want to pigeon hole ourselves to one specific sound, the fact we take influence from so many different genres definitely seems to come through in our music but its difficult to answer as we try something different with every track :)

3 - When you sit down to make a track, what’s the first thing you typically do? How long does a track typically take you to make?

There is never a set format we follow when writing music, sometimes we will write a chord progression and build the track from that, we might build a drum loop first or take inspiration from a sample we have found, its always different.

As far as how long a track takes to make, that varies massively! It depends on so many things, we like to put 100% into everything we do musically and sonically, which can take time.

4 - What does your current production setup consist of?

APPLE MAC PRO DUAL CORE

MACKIE 824 MKII MONITORS

YAMAHA HS80 MONITORS

MACKIE BIG KNOB

MOTU 8PRE AUDIO INTERFACE

MOTU MIDI EXPRESS 128

AKAI MPK49 KEYBOARD

TLAudio IVORY 2 DUAL VALVE COMPRESSOR

ROLAND SH-201

KORG TRITON

LOGIC 9 PRO

+ Untold amount of software Plug-ins/Insrtuments

5 - What time of day do you work best?

That also varies, were in the studio pretty much 24/7 between the 2 of us.

6 - When playing live, what are you using for your performances?

At the moment we are just playing Dj sets (CDJ's) but we are working on eventually developing some sort of Live setup in the future so watch this space.

7 - What records are you currently playing out at the moment?

We've a lot of new bangers in the bag at the moment there are too many to mention but the new Trolley Snatcha EP we have been playing a lot of, Subzee D is coming with some big tunes at the moment too to name a few.

8 - Where’s your favorite place to DJ?

There have been so many good shows over the past 2 years its hard to say, its usually the places you don't expect that have a huge following, last weekend we played 2 amazing shows in Lithuania and Romania, big sold out events with a really good vibe. Canada is definitely a favorite though, the scene out there is HUGE. We have been over there a few times now and it gets better every time.

9 - How do you see the Dubstep scene at the moment?

Its looking really healthy at the moment, getting a lot of daytime airplay around the world, its bringing in awards, it just seems to be getting bigger, "bass music" or whatever you want to call it as a whole is smashing it at the moment so lets just hope it lasts :)

10 - When you’re not making or playing/making music, what’s your preferred pastime?

Fine Dining and Crazy Golf

11 - Where do you think you will be musically in the next few years?

Lets see what happens, we want to keep evolving musically of course and spread our wings a bit as far as musical genre is concerned. You may even see a BARE NOIZE album, who knows . .

12 - A last word…
